Eject cd mac without keyboard

I found another posting that suggested holding down the mouse button so I found an old wired mouse from my unlamented old PC , plugged it in and behold! So - holding down the mouse button while restarting worked to eject the CD.

Sorry for the false alarm! From the early days of the mac, if you hold the mouse button during the startup process, the mac ejects whatever disks are inside. I'm pretty sure the current OS and machines still have this feature.

Not an option if your mouse is broken, but maybe you could borrow one when you borrow the keyboard. I also thought your bluetooth receiver in the mac might be bad if both mouse and 'board are down. More likely it just needs a final boot into the new updated OS to clear out some settings.
